The Day 2 Day Diabetes Support Group is starting its third year with its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday at the Lodi Public Library, at 201 W. Locust St. Doors open at 6 p.m. There will be a discussion question of interest to all attendees, and the normal meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.
Executive board member Megan Goudie will lead a discussion on living with diabetes on a day-to-day basis. Attendees will be able to give input as well as learn from others on how to deal with some aspects of diabetes.
The featured guest speaker will be Katrina Knight, a registered dietitian and the founder of the California Nutrition Group in Sacramento. She holds a master’s degree in dietetics and nutrition from Florida International University, and a master’s degree from University of Pittsburgh.
Knight specializes in diabetes, weight-loss and digestive health conditions including IBS, celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). Throughout her career, Knight has counseled patients on a wide variety of issues, including heart health, prenatal and postnatal nutrition, and sports nutrition.
Her goal is to help busy, active people live their healthiest lives with a simple and realistic approach to nutrition. Knight believes that healthy food should be tasty food. She is also fluent in English and Spanish.
