About the poet

Five-year-old Noah, intently observing two goldfish swim around in our fish jar, asked, “Hey Papa, where do they poop and pee?”

“Where do you think?” I answered.

“That’s gross, Papa.”

“Tell me about it, son,” I laughed.

“Papa, you think God watches us like this?”

“What do you think, Noah?”

“I think he does, Papa.”

“Me, too, son. I think God has a divine sense of humor.”

“You mean God’s funny?”

“Sometimes, son.”
