- About the author
My name is Tayler Kramer. I am 16 years old, and I wrote this poem as an ode to my family to thank them for always being there and supporting me. I love them dearly. I want to become either a teacher, a therapist, or poet like Edgar Allan Poe. Poetry is one of my most favorite things to write.

When the life you live pushes you down
They are always there to help you up.
When you feel as though you’re about to fall
They always seem to catch you.
When you feel unloved and unwanted
Their arms are always open to make you feel safe and secure.
They are there every day.
Yet we tend to take them for granted.
They love us through everything we say and do.
Now who are these special, always smiling people you may ask?
Well, they are non other than your adoring family.
