About the poet

George Gemellos, of Lodi, has written many poems, which are included in his book, “I Was Never Meant To Work for Others.”

He is 88 years old and has driven big rig trucks for much of his life.

He wrote this truckers’ lament in behalf of all the “gear select technicians” of the past.

Please don’t take your wife for granted,

Nourish the love seeds that were planted.

Wives have needs don’t treat them like slaves

Like way back then, when they lived in caves.

You need to be considerate, kind and loving,

For this is what keeps your marriage moving.

Your wife is truly your lover and best friend,

Show her lots of respect and don’t let it end.

She’s not a house slave to fulfill your needs,

Treat her like you do your tomato seeds.

I wrote this poem, short and sweet,

So you can post it on your Tweet.
