A cheerful, sassy show about four women going through “the change” is coming to Lodi for a repeat performance.

“Menopause the Musical” will run for one night only at the Charlene Powers Lange Theatre at Hutchins Street Square.

Currently in its 13th year, the show was created by Jenny Linders as a celebration of women who find themselves on the brink of, experiencing or having survived menopause. Linders says she was inspired by a hot flash and a bottle of wine.

The musical is set in a department store, where four women meet by chance while shopping for a black lace bra during a lingerie sale.

After noticing unmistakable similarities among one another, the all-female cast jokes about their woeful hot flashes, mood swings, wrinkles, weight gain and much more. These women form a sisterhood and unique bond as they rejoice in celebrating that menopause is no longer “the silent passage.”

The 90-minute show features parodies of pop songs from the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s. It’s the longest running scripted production in Las Vegas, appearing nightly at the Luxor Hotel and Casino. The show has also been performed in 450 U.S. cities and 15 countries.

In Lodi, new label Hot Flash Wines will be featured in the production.
