Ivan Najera doesn't live in Lodi, but he plays locally every time there's an opportunity. Tonight at Pasos Vineyars, located at Vino Piazza, 12470 Locke Road in Lockeford, Najera will celebrate the release of his newest CD, "Mia," with a live concert. Attend the event for a chance to see Najera perform with Levi Huffman, Alan Kuehne (bass), Mark McCartney (drums), Doug Matson (keyboard) and Mario Sebastian (percussion).

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the concert starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 with $5 back on returned wine glasses. For information, call 727-3153.

Ron Thompson and The Resisters

When it comes to performing with legends, Ron Thompson has. He's performed and recorded with B.B. King, Tina Turner, Booker T. Jones, Percy Mayfield, Etta James, Jimmy Reed, Bruce Willis, Luther Tucker, Carla Thomas, Jimmy McCracklin, Pee Wee Crayton and Big Mama Thornton.

Thompson is a rhythm and blues guitarist and keyboardist whose career began in the East San Francisco Bay nightclubs and bars in the 1970s. In the early 1980s, Thomspon met Mick Fleetwood, of Fleetwood Mac, and the two became friends and musical partners.

Tonight from 6-9 p.m., Ron Thompson and the Resisters will perform at Lodi's Jessie's Grove Winery, 1973 W. Turner Road. Tickets are $22 at the entrance. For information, call 368-0880.
