Infinity and Man

A tirllion billion years ago

It mattered not to me

What on earth was going on

Or what there was to see

Now it seems preoccupation

With this thing we call sensation

It’s strange to think

How this has come to be

Confusion in the human race

Is nothing next to time and space

How orderly they always

Seem to me

Now we wonder

Where we’re going

How and why

Our thoughts are flowing

We wonder why we live

And why we die

I do not think

That we should care

If it is

Or isn’t fair

For in the end

There is no end you see

So don’t be filled with sorrow

For that will be tomorrow

Remember what’s important

Is today
