About the poet

William Van Amber Fields has been married for 50 years with seven children and 21 grandchildren. He enjoys writing personal poetry for his grandchildren, for special occassions, as comment on social issues and Christian thought. This poem was written in witness of all the turmoil in the Middle East.

Season’s greetings

Bloody Winters

Summers too

Arab Spring

What’s it mean?

Twin Towers Fall

Answers all

Minarets scream

Call to prayer

All day long

Kill and pray

Pray and kill

Bullets ping

Scimitars ring

IED’s sing

Shariah’s shrill song

Haughty pretensions

Brotherhood’s motives

Mecca’s intentions

Rage and oil

Oil and hate

Lubricate the Khaliphati

Celebrate Salam aleikum

Fruits of righteousness are sown

In peace of them that make peace their own.
