Three decades of fundraising tradition is returning to Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Winery grounds to benefit the Lodi Memorial Hospital Foundation.
It’s SummerFest, hosted by a bastion of Lodi wine and the foundation.
The first fest was known as Mai Fest, a German tradition, and held on May 19, 1984. The event was moved to June for better weather, but the mission remained: To raise money for improved technology and patient services at Lodi Memorial Hospital.
Over the years, the event has raised $750,000. Those proceeds helped to build the new emergency room at Lodi Memorial, provide fetal monitors, and fund the Adult Day Care at Hutchins Street Square.
While the event is turning 30, it still features wine from Mondavi Cellars, food from local restaurants, and hours of live music.
This year, expect live music from In The Mood and food from 13 local restaurants, including Angelina’s, which was among the restaurants on board for the first SummerFest. The fest also includes raffles and a silent auction.
