All parents will find in the years they go through

There are the troubled teens and the terrible twos.

Rebellions seems to be the most forthcoming then.

The ‘twos’ saying no, the teens “where why and when?”

Try not to say things you will later regreat.

Words that are cruel are so hard to forget.

Take time to remember that you, too, passed this way.

If you just asked your parents, they are likely to say

“Oh, yes, you drove us right up a wall.

Still, isn’t it funny, I just can’t recall

What brought about all the fights that we had.

I’d surely remember if they were too bad.”

One thing is certain, years quickly go by

So make up your mind that you’ll really try

to exercise patience and be more forgiving.

It could help bring harmony where you are living

Have faith that someday the time will be here

When there are no childish nos or a rampage of tears.

I hope that my words will somehow be heeded.

When they are unloveable, your love is most needed.
