More than 19 poets will share their poetry Sunday at A Starry Night Poetry Series at the Lodi Library. A Starry Night Poetry Reading has been active since May.
Participating poets include Jim Turner, Rim Christensen, Stanley McFadden, Wallace Condon, David Voytek, Jim Turner, Royelle Diamond, William “Pappy” Sedgeman, Jim Fox, Leslie Bond, Marvin Smith, Danielle Keady, Bev Peek, Donald R. Anderson, Marie J. Ross, Kenya Mitchell, Elizabeth Parrish and Mable “Jimi” Choice.
Poets who are published will have their books for sale and refreshments will be available between readings.
Sunday’s A Starry Night Poetry Series will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Lodi Library, 201 W. Locust St.
ZooLights at Micke Grove Zoo
Micke Grove Zoo has been transformed into a holiday wonderland with thousands of twinkling lights. Take the whole family and celebrate “Peppermint, Paws and Santa Claus” at tonight’s ZooLights event. Guests can enjoy wagon rides, games and crafts for the children, musical entertainment and free refreshments. Have your family’s photo taken with Santa to commemorate the event. Admission is $6 adults, $4 children (under 3 years are free). Guests may bring a donation of canned food or a gently used or new child’s coat to give to charities.
