I have a bounty of wonderful Christmas memories! Christmas is incredibly special to me. It is the best holiday of the year.
One special memory is eating fudge during the holiday season. I LOVE fudge. It is a cherished memory for me because I rarely get to eat it except for Christmas. I like any kind of fudge, including those with walnuts in them. My mom only makes it once a year, so when I have it, it’s a real treat.
Another treasured memory is going over to my grandmother’s house. Every year, we go there. She loves Christmas! First, we talk together and eat appetizers. Then, we sit in the dining room and enjoy dinner. After, we have dessert, the best part. Finally, we open the wonderful gifts from family. I don’t think there has ever been a year when we didn’t go to my nana’s house for Christmas Eve.
A third memory I have is going to get a Christmas tree at Forest Creek Farm. We usually get a green tree, but last year we chose a flocked tree. Each year, the family has to agree on one we like. As the people from the tree farm put the trees in the back of my dad’s truck, we get a candy cane while my mom pays. My sister and I look forward to that candy cane all year. After, we eat lunch at Airport Cafe and then go home to decorate it.
Yet one more memory I have of Christmas is going out and looking at peoples’ decorated houses. There are bright, twinkly lights, and there are dim-colored lights. We also get something warm to drink while we are driving around and listening to Christmas music.
Christmas makes me feel warm and happy inside. I enjoy having family time together. All the decorations and treats fill my heart with joy.
