The traditional Galentine’s Day celebration: brunch.

In “Parks and Rec,” Leslie Knope and her friends celebrated Galentine’s Day with a delicious brunch.

LangeTwins Winery first threw their own traditional brunch last year. It was so successful, they decided to hold it again this year — and it sold out a week ahead.

“It is a wine-paired brunch, and the purpose of Galentine’s is to celebrate love and friendship,” said Jillian Mulrooney, the winery’s hospitality manager.

The four-course brunch highlights LangeTwins wines. After the brunch, guests head to the press room — LangeTwins’ tasting room — to sample other vintages. They also get an early preview before the winery opens for Wine and Chocolate Weekend.

“It’s just a fun morning, drinking sustainably grown Lodi wines paired with really fun and interesting food pairings,” Mulrooney said.

But it’s sold out. So are you doomed to wait until next year’s event?

It’s not quite the same, but you can create a similar brunch for yourself and your friends at home. Choose a few bottles of your favorite Lodi wine or champagne, whip up omelettes, French toast and fresh fruit, and spend the morning catching up and enjoying your friendships.

Or make it a potluck, so everyone can make sure there’s at least one favorite food to munch on.

Then, head out to Wine and Chocolate Weekend or spend the day enjoying another fun, friend-filled activity.

And next year, for the full Galentine’s pampering experience, be sure to buy tickets early!

Enjoy a friends’ day getting the spa treatment.

Perfect Balance Day Spa is excited to be celebrating Galentine’s Day this year, in addition to Valentine’s Day. Celebrating romance is great, of course, but so is celebrating friendship.

“There are other relationships in are life that are just as important,” general manager Brittany Davis said.

The spa will be offering discounts on certain days through Feb. 14 for people who come in as pairs, whether couples or friends. There are two-person rooms for massages, and an outdoor sauna area that can accommodate groups, Davis said.

“Whether it’s coming in for a massage or coming in for pedicures, they can bring their own wine or champagne and snacks,” she added.

Wine & Roses Spa is also ready to help friends celebrate Galentine’s Day.

The spa has some private rooms where pairs of friends can catch up, or they can spend time in co-ed or single gender steam rooms.

“The tranquility room is really nice and peaceful. There’s a fire going in there, a hot tea station,” said Melanie Lacey, the spa’s concierge.

The spa also has a limited wine list and cheese plate for purchase.

The goal for both spas is to offer space for women to be pampered while they celebrate their friendships or their relationships.

“Loving others the way you would want to be loved, treating others the way you want to be treated ... we do that with our staff, and with our clients as well,” Davis said.

Galentine’s gifts are great for showing appreciation.

Gifts aren’t required on Galentine’s Day, but they can be a fun way to express your appreciation for your closest friends.

The dollar aisle in Target can be a great resource for finding fun, inexpensive gifts, Sentinel Media Services editor Maggie Creamer said. One year, she found gift tins and filled them with candy, toys and other knick-knacks.

If you want to get a little fancier, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Downtown Lodi has truffles, candied apples and other gourmet chocolate treats.

Other ideas: Small, meaningful art prints, desk calendars (it’s still pretty early in the year), scented candles, gift cards for coffee, even games on Steam — just about anything makes a great Galentine’s gift, if it’s something your friend would like.

Remember, though, it’s the thought that counts, not the cost.
