This Thursday, Lodi Musical Theater's second production, "West Side Story," will open on the stage of Hutchins Street Square, complete with gang rivalry, 1950s dress and lively dance numbers. With 50 cast members, singers and dancers from the Lodi area, director Nicole Warren says the show is bigger than last year's Lodi hit, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," which was put on by the community theater company.

"This is a huge musical and it's very much larger than life," Warren said.

Wonderful cast! The singing gave me goose bumps at each turn. Very well done!

Any theater lovers should not miss "West Side Story" at Hutchins Street Square in Lodi. I had the pleasure of being at opening night. Everyone in the small party I was with were extremely impressed by the professionalism. (None of my party knows anyone in or anyone related to the cast.) What a treat this would be for first time theater goers also. This is the first production I have seen here but it won't be the last.
