Role: Ensign Nellie Forbush

Age: 22

Acting experience: I have my bachelors degree in theater and I’ve been in many, many productions. I did training at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.

Hometown: Woodland.

What should people know about “South Pacific?” It’s not as corny as the movie.

How often do you have to come to Lodi? Three times a week, sometimes four.

Favorite line from a movie or play? “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn,’ from “Gone With the Wind.”

If I could trade places with anyone, I would be: I don’t think I want to trade places, I’m very happy.  Maybe Meryl Streep. She’s not popular because she’s hot, she’s really talented and people respect her, and that’s kind of what I’m going for.

I love acting because: I kind of just figured this out. I’m just really apathetic. When I get to act, I get to share their story and make other people care.

When I grow up, I want to be: An actress. I’m moving to Los Angeles in January. I’m going to live with my sister, who goes to University of Southern California, and will probably end up doing some commercial work, but I love live theater. I’ll will probably end up doing film (because it pays).

My parents always tell me: Don’t give up.

Biggest influence: Probably my parents and my grandmother. She came from Holland with nothing. She is the classic immigration story.

Favorite actors: Meryl Streep, and Johnny Depp is pretty cute. I like Mariska Hargitay, the girl on “Law and Order: SVU.”

Favorite scene in “South Pacific?” The waltzing scene. I really like to waltz. It’s fun, and I get to wear a pretty dress.

Challenging part of this role: The crying scenes. She starts out pretty happy ... it gets really serious, and I have all these crying scenes.

Before you go on stage, DO NOT eat: Beans. It’s probably not a good idea.

What was your best Halloween costume? Me and my boyfriend were a light (fixture). He was the plug and I was the socket. It was wildly inappropriate, but I got to wear jeans and a sweatshirt.
