He oversees a region that had its second-largest harvest on record last year. The average price of winegrapes per ton increased by 17 percent to set a new high. As head of the commission, King’s also tasked with spreading the message of Lodi Rules, a program for sustainable winegrowing overseen by a committee of vintners, growers and scientists.
