For us, Life and Leisure offers fresh opportunities to celebrate our community and the people in it. It’s also a chance for our staff to take on new and varied assignments.

A prime example: The package in this edition by Machelle Homer on Oak Farm Vineyards. Machelle has been with the News-Sentinel for seven years and serves as our newsroom assistant. Her duties are varied, from coordinating letters to the editor to gathering the historical nuggets we publish on our opinion page. She also writes the Serendipity pieces for our Friday Panorama page, highlighting eclectic events throughout the region.
