Join the Teen Advisory Council (TAC) — Fun community service opportunity
Membership is open to ages 12-18. TAC members are basically the Library’s “teen brain.” The library needs you to tell us what teens want, what’s hot, what’s not and what’s needed at the library to make it work for teens. Duties: TAC members help plan library programs for teens and some for all ages. Teens help with ideas, create posters, prepare for craft projects, assist with program instructors, room set up and tear down. Also, the library is in the process of planning for a new Teen Space. We need your advice on how to make the space comfortable and fun for teens. All this plus whatever hours members spend working at home on the library’s programs are counted towards TAC’s service hours.
Special perks: You get to be in the local newspaper, on YouTube video, you represent the library at community events, and best of all, the membership looks fantastic on your college application and job resumes.
Meetings are held at least once a month on Mondays at 5 p.m. Agendas are emailed to TAC members a week before the meeting.
