“Banesa Rodriguez is an exceptional, not just because of her strong work ethic and excellent academic performance, but also because of her giving heart. She is helpful, caring, and compassionate toward those around her. She is extremely respectful of school rules and of other people's feelings. I do not just admire her as a fine student, but also as a tremendous human being. I feel privileged to be able to call myself her teacher.” — Brian McKilligan

“Kristopher Washington is our classroom hero. Everyone at Lakewood School can count on Kris to be a helping hand when the need arises. From helping Mr. Gomez with the PE equipment, to selling candy canes and collecting canned food for our school charities, Kris is a person we can count on. In the classroom, Kris is enthused about learning. He takes initiative and delves into topics that interest him. He is kind and patient with his fellow students, offering to help anyone in need. For these reasons and more, Kristopher Washington is our classroom hero.” — Ms. Ransome

“They say good things come in small packages. That is so true when speaking about our classroom hero, Jillian Fuchs. At a mere 4' 2", her nickname for herself is so true, Tiny But Mighty. A powerhouse of energy, she excels at everything she attempts. Currently she holds the position of Student Body Secretary at Lakewood School. In her spare time, she is active in Changing Faces Theater Company performing in "Treasure Island" and playing Juliet in "Romeo and Juliet." Being a high achiever, Jillian shows quality in her class work and achieves excellent grades. Always willing to help, Jillian stands out as Our Classroom Hero.” — Mrs. Capps

“David Garcia is our classroom hero. David is very diligent in his academic studies. He embodies the goals that Lakewood has for all of its students: making good choices, being responsible and being respectful. Having a great attitude in class and helping out whenever he is needed are character traits that are admirable. David shows initiative to help fellow students when they are struggling with their academics. He is kind and courteous. David is our "under the radar" classroom hero.” — Ms. Shook

“Kayla Smit is our classroom hero. Kayla has overcome academic obstacles and made tremendous growth socially and academically because of her perseverance and her willingness to take risks with her education. She is respectful, kind, and stands up for others. She is not afraid to 'not follow the crowd' and continually makes good choices. Kayla is a true "Lakewood Lion" and is a role model to all Lakewood students. We are all very proud of her.” — Ms. Howe and Ms. Oborn
