Some colleges require or recommend that you take SAT Subject Tests. (University of California policy is that Subject Tests are recommended.) In addition, you can enhance your application, demonstrate knowledge you've gained outside the classroom, and potentially place out of introductory courses.

Subject tests are best taken in the spring at the end of the course for which you will take the test. For more information, go to the SAT Subject Tests website.
