Jim Elliot Christian High School student Ally Dodd participated in a mission trip with Horizon Community Church in July. She was part of a high school youth group that traveled to Mexico to build a house for a family and organize a Vacation Bible School for local children.

Through donations and fundraising efforts, building materials and VBS supplies were purchased to make this ministry possible. In a mere week’s time, participants were able to pour a foundation for a 20-by-24-foot home, build walls and set up electricity.

“The purpose of this trip is for us to share the love of Christ. When the keys were given to the family, all of the hard work was worth every second,” Ally said. “It was a moving and unforgettable moment.”
