Career Training Programs

Lodi Unified’s Adult School offers a wide variety of career training programs, including: CISCO certification, Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting and more. A partnership with Boston Reed College includes course offerings for: EKG Technician, Phlebotomy, Veterinary Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Electronic Health Records Specialist. Check out the possibilities.

Delta College has partnered with Boston Reed to offer the following health career training programs through Workshops & Programs for Adults. Financial aid is available through loans and WorkNet.

Certified Phlebotomy Technician, Veterinary Assistant, Registered Pharmacy Technician Clinical Medical Assistant. Cost for these courses is much lower than the cost for the same programs at career colleges. More information is available online.

Upcoming Scholarship Information

Check the website of each college you are applying to for institutional scholarships and grants. Some scholarship application deadlines may be before the admission applications are due. Don’t miss out — this is a great resource for additional scholarships. Many are merit-based.

May 27 postmark: Comerciantes Unidos will award $500 scholarships to high school seniors of Hispanic heritage who will attend a 2- or 4-year college in the fall. Minimum 2.5 GPA. Essay must be written in Spanish — one letter of recommendation and a transcript are required. Call Mario at 209-969-0465 for an application.

May 31: Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship — for high school JUNIOR student-athletes: Ten $2,000 scholarships will be awarded in Northern California to 11th grade athletes who have a 2.5 minimum GPA. Apply online.

May 31: US Bank will award 40 $1,000 scholarships to seniors and current college students. Winners are selected in a random drawing. More information is available online.

May 31: Cien Amigos Scholarship Fund will award 50 $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors in our region who will attend college in Fall 2013. Must have a college admission letter and a 2.5 minimum GPA. Apply online.
