Nov. 30 is the deadline to apply to University of California and to California State University. Students are strongly advised to submit their applications by this weekend. If the application system gets overloaded, as happens close to the deadline, your application may not get submitted on time. There is no consideration for late applications.

For more information, visit www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions and www.csumentor.edu.

You will need a copy of your official transcript from the registrar of your school and the list of approved A-G courses: www.ucop.edu/doorways.

For details and the application, go to www.elks.org /enf/scholars/mvs.cfm. Letters of recommendation may be included as part of your exhibits.
