Dear T2T: I can’t get a date to save my life. I’ve been told that I’m too nice but I don’t know how to change that perception. Generally when I go for a girl I wind up in the “friend zone.” I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on online dating sites and I can’t even get a conversation going on them. Please help. I’m pretty desperate for a decent-looking guy that’s nice and will accept me for me. — Dateless
Response No. 1:
I understand how you must be feeling but being nice is a very good and rare quality now in days so don’t ever change that. When you date someone they should like for who you are. It can stink being “friend zoned” but everything happens for a reason and just think that there is someone better who will come along. As for online dating, it can be very dangerous because you never know who is on the other side. If you feel like you can’t hold a conversation with someone then just try talking to friends so maybe you can get some tips on what to talk about. If its a case of shyness then you should just try to be spend more times with your friends so it may help you open up. As for being to nice, its very rare when you find a nice person so never change; stay true to who you are. There’s no reason to rush a relationship if you are looking a person that accepts you for who you are then just let time do it’s work. Relationships are a complicated things and they take time, you will find someone perfect for you. I hope you find a date soon and I wish you all the best.
Response No. 2:
Sometimes this “friend-zone” can turn into a relationship, so there is no need to worry at this point. Be honest with your friends that you have feelings for because honestly can get you a long way. You’ll find the right person eventually whether it’s one of your friends or it’s someone that you haven’t even met yet. Sometimes it just takes longer for some people to form a relationship. It’s not a bad thing; just wait for the right time. We all face challenges in our lives, we just have to fight and persevere to overcome them so we can achieve our goals! Good luck!
