When Mrs. Robert’s fourth-grade class heard about a family who lost all of their belongings in a fire, they wanted to do something to help. Unanimously, the class voted to forgo their end of the year classroom party and donate the funds to help the family rebuild their lives.

Students had been collecting money throughout the school year and happily gave all $155 in their account.

“I have not heard one regret since they made the decision,” said Mrs. Roberts. “We can all learn a lesson from these amazing students! These students gave to people they didn’t know because they wanted to help. Congratulations to them for their compassion and caring. Not having much yourself does not mean you can’t help as this bunch of 9 and 10 year-olds has proved. I am proud of them!”
