The Block L will be awarded to Lodi High School students who earn a GPA of 3.8 or above for two consecutive semesters of the same school year.

For ninth-, 10th- and 11th-grade students, Bronze Pin is for second year. Silver Pin is for 3rd year. A senior who previously earned a Silver Pin can earn a Gold Pin in January for seven consecutive semesters of 3.8 or above.

The Class of 2014 — our current seniors — is the first class under the Block L for Academics program and this class has 34 students who have the opportunity to earn their Gold Pin at the end of this semester.

Last year, 174 students earned a GPA of 3.8 or above for both semesters! To honor the students, three ceremonies will take place as follows:

Nov. 4, 2013: Class of 2014

17 students earned Block L

11 students earned Bronze Pin

34 students earned Silver Pin

Nov. 18, 2013: Class of 2015

10 students earned Block L

35 students earned Bronze Pin

Dec. 2, 2013: Class of 2016

67 students earned Block L

Each ceremony will include a continental breakfast for the students and their parents starting at 7 a.m. with the presentation of the awards starting at 7:20 a.m. Check out the display case in the main hallway at Lodi High School.
