Need help finding which majors are offered at UC, CSU and California Community Colleges? Find information about a specific major, search for majors that may interest you, or find all of the majors offered at UC and CSU.

California Community Colleges

Research majors and career-training programs at California Community Colleges.

It is very important to apply to a community college as soon as the application is available.

San Joaquin Delta College — application for Summer term is now open. Apply for Summer term even if you won't enroll until Fall term.

Columbia College — application for Summer and Fall terms opens today.

Los Rios District — Cosumnes River, Sacramento City, Folsom Lake and American River Colleges — application is now open.

Modesto Junior College — Summer and fall application open.

Cabrillo College — application for Summer & Fall terms will open on April 1.

Note: it is highly recommended that our seniors apply to a community college early in the spring semester.

Upcoming scholarship deadlines:

March 8: Friends of the California State Fair Scholarship Program will award over $34,000 in 2013 to high school seniors and current college students. There are many categories available, including “top 10% of your graduating class”, “Agriculture, Culinary, Hospitality or Business majors”, “State Fair Exhibitors”, and more. Financial information is not requested. Application is online.

March 9: Tzu Chi Foundation awards need-based scholarships to high school seniors and current college students. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Tzu Chi Scholars are selected on the basis of financial need, academic achievement and community involvement. Awards range from $1,000 — $4,000. Application is online.

March 13: Physicians for Social Responsibility is sponsoring a scholarship essay contest open to high school seniors in our region. A total of $15,000 in scholarship money will be awarded to 12 students. To enter, write an essay of 500 words describing your thoughts on the proposed ban on handguns and assault weapons. Instructions and cover sheet is online.

March 15: Kohl’s Cares Scholarship Program recognizes and rewards young volunteers ages 6 — 18 whose efforts have made a positive impact on their communities. Top winners will receive a total of $10,000 for college. Up to $425,000 will be awarded this year. Apply online.

March 15: Asian Pacific Fund provides more than 70 scholarships yearly ranging from $1,000 to $20,000 each. There are 12 programs available — eligibility requirements vary for each one. Apply to all scholarships for which you are eligible. For example, scholarships are offered for students of Filipino or Asian heritage, children of restaurant workers, farm or migrant workers, Engineering or Business majors For details, go to the Asian Pacific Fund website.
