“There are many students deserving of the title classroom hero in fifth grade. However, one student stands out because of the qualities he has committed to exude both in and out of the classroom. This student has learned to remain positive and help maintain others positive when things get tough. He exhibits leadership qualities and uses these qualities to get others to perform better. Not only is he respectful and responsible with his peers and adults on campus, he has also learned to put himself in other people's shoes whereas things used to be all about him. I chose Chandler because he believes in himself and has realized that in order to achieve his full potential he has to be a humble, honest, and hard working student.” — Angel Mendoza
