Vintage View: A look at Lodi’s classic School Street

This early 1950s photo shows Downtown Lodi’s School Street looking south from Locust Street. The wide street had parallel parking and was lined with parking meters. On the right is Wells Funeral Home, and the small circular sign for the gas station that once was at the west corner of Elm and School streets, where the Lodi Stadium 12 movie theater is today. On the left is G.G. Hust & Sons plumbing, Maxwell Motor Supply and Ford tractor, the Travelers Hotel and Farmers & Merchants Bank, where the Take 27 restaurant is now located.
