Lodi celebrated Thanksgiving holiday early in 1939

In this 1940s photo, Lodi businessmen draw attention to a sign directing travelers on Cherokee Lane (which was the main highway through town) down Pine Street toward the business district in Downtown. From left: Sam Stoloff, Sam Salas, Bob Elliott and Phil Mitchell. The sign was posted for years at the southwest corner of Cherokee Lane and Pine Street. Lincoln School is in the background.
