There was no Times Square sparkling ball to watch descend on New
Year's Day 102 years ago, but Lodians ushered in 1902 in much the
same way as today.
The waning days of 1901 featured news of Christmas gatherings
and celebrations, some around family dinner tables and others a
little less wholesome.
