For some time Trustee Folendorf and Superintendent of Public Utilities Henning have been looking up the latest in street lighting with the result that through the courtesy of the Electric Appliance Comapny of San Francisco the city has been furnished one of the newest fixtures for demonstration. The glass top costs about $10 and the lamp used is a Tungsten lamp filled with nitrogen gas.

The lamp gives about twitce the light for the same amount of current as the lampsĀ  used in the old electrollers: costs one-third as much and lasts longer. Besides this, the light appears to be much nearer to daylight in quality, being quite a bit whiter.
