Events mark Lodi's 1916 Independence Day celebration

Excitement and anticipation was always in the air during early Lodi's celebrations of Independence Day.

In the early years, Lodi celebrated the occasion with the largest parades of the year and day-long picnics in the neighboring groves and later in the city's first municipal park (today's Hale Park).
