A nearly two-inch-thick bound collection of brittle old newspapers is hard to throw away. So, it was dropped off at my house recently. As historians, would we be interested in this glimpse into the past?
The yellowed collection of the Stockton Daily Evening Record has a plain cover sheet marked "January 1926" in black grease pencil. With the cover sheet carefully turned back, the first page of the entire month's editions from 87 years ago appears.
