July 4th celebrated with festivities, ‘horrible’ parade

The Fourth of July was a popular holiday in Lodi, and the largest celebration of the year was held on this day.

In 1912, the 136th anniversary of our nation’s birth was celebrated with a daylong affair enjoyed by more than 10,000 people from throughout northern San Joaquin County.
