Camp Fire Girls were formed in Lodi in 1916 with just 10 members

In 1916, Lodi Union High School teacher Ida Rinn reportedly started the first group of Camp Fire Girls in Lodi. There were 10 girls in that first group. Rinn led the girls on hikes and they had cookouts.

In 1919, Mrs. White, a schoolteacher at Live Oak School, started a Camp Fire Girls group in Lockeford. The group leader in those days was called a "guardian" of the girls.
