Yellowed pages of a torn newspaper from the past arrived in the mail recently.

Ed and Joy Mills, former Lodi residents, recently found the tattered March 5, 1924 edition of The Lodi News in some old boxes of family mementos. The newspaper was badly torn, with only four pages left. In addition to rips along brittle creases, it had a big circle cut out of it because it was used to make a child's dress pattern. Still, they didn't have the heart to throw away the 87-year-old slice of Lodi history. So, they mailed it to us.
