July 3, 1979: Fireworks still barred in city area

Merrymakers planning for the hoopla celebration on the Fourth of July are reminded that city ordinances prohibit the use of fireworks within Lodi city limits.

According to Chief Fire Inspector Stanley Rall of the Lodi Fire Department, the law is in keeping with a county-wide ordinance making it unlawful for anyone to sell, possess or discharge any and all types of fireworks with the county.
