The story of Jeremiah Woods, the founder of Woodbridge, has been told often, but little is known about another Woods man who lived most of his life in the town named for his father.
Blake Robert Woods was born in Indiana in 1846. The son of Jeremiah H. Woods, Blake was a young boy when his parents loaded him and their belongings into a prairie schooner and embarked on the grueling cross-country trip to California, where the Gold Rush was at its height.
