A century ago, Lodi unveiled a new high school campus. The years 1913 and 1914 were proud, progressive years in Lodi's early history. During that time, the city of about 3,000 was embracing growth and modernization.

Downtown's dirt streets were being paved. Hitching racks were being moved, and automobiles were starting to outnumber horses. The city bought its first fire truck. The Bank of Lodi built a new building Downtown, and work was started on the new grand Hotel Lodi in Downtown.
