Harold Edwards grew up on a Washington farm and says he was never lured into the addictive habit of cigarette smoking because none of his friends — which included the cows, chickens and pigs he tended — smoked. “They couldn’t read the advertisements,” he jokes.
But Edwards is completely serious in his efforts to warn children about the dangers of smoking and drinking before they start using either.
