Irvin and Loneita Bender of Lodi celebrated 60 years of marriage last month. They were married on Aug. 12, 1952 in Dinuba.

The couple moved to Lodi in 1953, where Irvin became a real estate broker and owned Irvin Bender Realty. Later, it became Bender and Brandt Realty. At one point, he had five offices and employed over 30 agents. He also served as president of the Lodi Board of Realtors, where he fought for fair housing. When Cesar Chavez and the UFW marched from Delano to Sacramento, he and his family passed out root beer to the marchers to show their support. Their children are Norma, Kathy and Cindie.
