Leah Hesseltine celebated 100th birthday in December

Leah Hesseltine, of Clements, celebrated her 100th birthday in December. She was born Dec. 6, 1913 near Clements.

Leah lived on a ranch six miles northeast of Clements. She graduated from Salem School in Lodi in 1927 and then from Lodi Union High School in 1931. She then attended Humphrey’s College for two years. At the age of 23, she married Howard. They lived in Lodi before building their home just outside of Clements in 1949. They were married for 54 years and had three children. The two enjoyed traveling and their most enjoyable trip was to the Holy Land, Italy and Greece in 1972.
