We all consume too much salt. A recent survey by the American Heart Association reveals we are confused about low-sodium choices and the primary sources of sodium in diets.

Excess sodium can increase blood pressure which increases the risk of both heart disease and stroke. Uncontrolled high blood pressure is also a leading risk factor for chronic kidney disease that, uncontrolled, will lead to kidney failure.
