For about the last 13 years, Mettler Family Vineyards was probably the finest winery Lodi Wine Country visitors never heard of. Why? Because they never opened a tasting room.
Instead, the Mettlers concentrated on growing and producing award-winning wines first. They started off with a bang — a 1999 Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon that made Wine Spectator magazine’s list of “Top 100 In the World” — and steadily expanded their market presence in 35 key states (from Hawaii to New York), selling out everything they made.
