Let's hear from the restaurant patron in response to the sardonic diatribe denegrating restaurant patrons, homeless, the extravagant and gluttonous. Dining out is a luxurious experience marred only by a server with distain for the customer. My tip calculation has nothing to do with handouts to an unfortunate passerby. Good thing I'm not a mind reader, or the tip would include deductions for disingenuous service. Profiting from human misery as a struggling couple reaches to find lost common ground is not something to brag about. Where would this server be if the well-financed gentleman didn't spend money in the restaurant on over-priced meals? Unemployed, that's where. When I ask for recommendations from the server, I'm not trying to impress, I'm just trying to educate myself through what I assume to be an educated opinion. While my entertainment dollar is finite, don't bite the hand that feeds you by scorning those with plenty enough to pay for personal attention during an elegant meal. I look forward to having a glass of wine served by this author and will attempt to temper his coal heart with good humor and generousity so he can see how the other half truly enjoys and appreciates an occasional forray into gluttony and extravagance.
