Jennifer: I read your article about the new immunization law that went into effect July 1. It requires all students entering seventh through 12th grade to get a Tdap booster shot against whooping cough. What about the teachers?

This law does not pertain to teachers. Although the immunization is recommended for anyone working with children, teachers need only keep their tuberculosis test current, according to Lodi Unified School District Superintendent Cathy Nichols-Washer.
