Dear Jennifer: I attended a Galt City Council meeting earlier this year when the council members voted to use eminent domain over properties for the greater public good. Do you know what this means?

Answer: The California Eminent Domain Law dictates a public hearing must be held declaring the necessity to acquire the properties before action is actually taken.
