Ombudsman. It’s a mouthful of a word, isn’t it?

It’s also an important one. An ombudsman is someone who is trained and state certified to investigate and resolve problems for residents in long-term care facilities. It’s a perfect topic for this Aging Gracefully column because it’s two-fold: you can be a volunteer ombudsman yourself, or you can work with an ombudsman to help someone you love who is in long-term care.
