AARP declares us “senior” when we’re 50. The IRS calls us “elderly” at 60 and gives us free tax counseling. The government doesn’t label us, but we’re definitely senior by 65 when Medicare kicks in.

It can be confusing. Sixty seems a reasonable age for senior, but what about elderly? To me, it isn’t a particular number, but is more about when we become frail or fragile.
